Itinerary
Meet the guide at the airport and we will be taken to our beach hotel in Durru00ebs.
Excursion to Kruju00eb with a visit to the museum dedicated to the Albanian national hero Skanderbeg. This place is also visited by numerous Albanian pilgrims and is located on the edge of a mountain massif.
Then city tour of the capital Tirana. We will see the colorful residential buildings, the clock tower, the Etu2019hem Bey Mosque and visit the National Museum.
First we drive along the Adriatic coast, then inland to Berat, the city of u201ca thousand windowsu201d (UNESCO World Heritage Site). There we see the fortress, the mosque of bachelors and the Ottoman bridge.
Continue our journey to the excavations of Apollonia. Overnight in Vloru00eb.
Drive south on the coastal road with views of the picturesque coves and beaches. Before we pass the Llogara mountain pass.
Visit the ruined city of Butrint, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We see the remains of the Lion Gate, the Nymphaeum and the Amphitheater.
Today we first see the romantic mountain lake Syri i Kaltu00ebr, the u201csource of the black eyeu201d.
Then we visit the u201ccity of stonesu201d Gjirokastu00ebr. This historic city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its typical Balkan houses. We see the castle and have a wonderful view from there.
Visit of a traditional family in a typical stone house of the region.
Today we drive through a beautiful, unspoilt nature, seeing mountains, charming valleys and rivers. There's a picnic for lunch.
In Koru00e7u00eb, a sightseeing tour awaits us. Koru00e7u00eb is also known for its love serenades.
First we cross the border into Macedonia and visit the city of Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We also visit the famous monastery of St. Naum, which is also protected by UNESCO.
Back in Albania we drive to Elbasan with its inhabited fortress. Afterwards we travel back to Durru00ebs.
Transfer from the hotel in Durru00ebs to Tirana airport and return to Germany.
