Kecharis Monasteryu00a0is a medieval Armenian monastic complex dating back to the 11th to 13th centuries, located 60u00a0km fromu00a0Yerevan, in theu00a0ski resortu00a0town ofu00a0Tsakhkadzoru00a0inu00a0Armenia. Nestled in the Pambak mountains, Kecharis was founded by au00a0Pahlavuniu00a0prince in the 11th century, and construction continued until the middle of the 13th century. In the 12th and 13th centuries, Kecharis was a major religious center of Armenia and a place of higher education. Today, the monastery has been fullyu00a0restoredand is clearly visible from the ski slopes.nnSevanavanku00a0is a monastic complex located on au00a0peninsula at the northwestern shoreu00a0ofu00a0Lake Sevanu00a0in theu00a0Gegharkunik Provinceu00a0ofu00a0Armenia, not far from the town ofu00a0Sevan. Initially the monastery was built at the southern shore of a small island. After the artificial draining of Lake Sevan, which started in the era ofu00a0Joseph Stalin, the water level fell about 20 metres, and the island transformed into au00a0peninsula.
