Itinerary
Venture into 7000 years of history as I take you through the first settlements here on the island to the mysterious Celtic peoples and the Vikings who would combine to create our unique culture. Find out about the families that used to rule the island, and how they are still at the top of the pecking order over 600 years after the families ascendency. See our island grow from a smugglers haven to a modern financial centre, and the stories that have shaped these portions of our history.
See this magnificent little castle and how its creator invented and spread the idea that every sailor in peril at sea should know that every attempt is being made to save them, and how the creator of this idea came to invent this ubiquitous feature of our modern day coastline, wherever we may be in the world.
The House of Keys is the modern home of our government, find out how our democracy is the oldest in the world as well as how it managed to survive over 1000 years to the present day without a single interruption.
