Hello dear visitor, my name is Arnaud and will be your native Guide of this magnificent Provence. Among the 5 tours I offer, I take you today to the lavender fields of Provence and to 2 typical villages that are Gordes and Roussillon.

This tour will alternate between photo breaks in the lavender fields near the villages of Velleron and Oppède, but also at the emblematic Abbey of Sénanque, and visits to emblematic villages of the region.

I will accompany you for the visit of Roussillon and its facades entirely ochre, and you will walk freely in Gordes, built in dry stone on a rocky promontory. We will also stop at the viewpoint on this iconic village of Provence.

In the meantime, we picnic in the shade, with a beautiful view of the Luberon valley. This picnic will consist only of fresh produce from local farms.

Itinerary

  • After about 30 minutes drive from Avignon, stop in a large lavender field around the village of Velleron, with a breathtaking view of Mont Ventoux.nThen about 45 minutes drive to Roussillon.

  • Visit the village entirely coloured with ochre and listed among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, also having a nice panorama over the valley.nThen about 15 minutes drive to the picnic area of Murs.

  • Picnic stop near the village of Murs, with stunning views of the valley. The picnic will consist only of fresh produce from local farms.nThen 10 to 15 minutes drive to Su00e9nanque Abbey.

  • Stop at the Abbaye de Su00e9nanque, where you will be fascinated by the beauty of its architecture, its history, but especially its lavender fields with the abbey as a backdrop, giving an artistic touch to your photos.nThen 15 minutes drive to Gordes.

  • 1 hour of free time in the village of Gordes to allow you to walk in the cobblestone streets of one of the most beautiful villages in France.nThen 5 minutes drive to the viewpoint on the village of Gordes.

  • Iconic photo stop on the village of Gordes and its dry stone constructions on the rocky promontory overlooking the valley.nThen 15 minutes drive to the last lavender field.

  • Stop in a magnificent lavender field located in the town of Oppu00e8de, with a magnificent view of the surrounding farm and the Luberon massif in the background.nThen about 45 minutes to 1 hour drive back to Avignon.nNote: depending on the flowering and cutting of the lavender, this field can be replaced by another lavender field located on the Plateau des Claparu00e8des, 30 minutes drive from Gordes and 1h15 from Avignon.
