The Notre-Dame Cathedral of Saigon is located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The cathedral is another landmark of the city and was built in 1883. The two bell towers are 58 meters high and the cathedral was built with materials from France, which were imported especially for that. In 1962 the cathedral was officially declared a Basilica by the Pope and since then it has been named Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Today it is not only a church, but also a major tourist attraction.

  • Next, you will witness the Saigon Central Post Office. It is also called Old Post Office, completed in 1891. It is an example of French architecture, with arched windows, wooden shutters, and a grand clock face on the front interior. Visitors can send postcards and admire the ornate interior of this working post office.

  • Walking further, you will face the Reunification Palace (or Independence Palace). The Reunification Palace, also known as Independence Palace, is today not only a museum, but there are still meetings and events held by the government.
