Itinerary
The Sea Garden, or officially the Seaside Park, is the largest, oldest and best known public park in the Bulgarian port city of Varna, which is also considered the largest landscape park in the Balkans.
Asparuhov Park is dedicated to the sovereign Khan Asparuh, founder in 680-81 of the 1st Bulgarian Empire, and whose name is found throughout the city. The park features beautiful paved avenues, a statue of the sovereign and spectacular night-time lighting.
Euxinograd is the former summer residence of the Bulgarian tsars on the Black Sea.
The Alajah Monastery is a former cave monastery not far from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, about 15 km north of the port city of Varna and about three km west of the tourist center of Gold Beach. It existed at least from the 11th century until after the 14th century.
The Cathedral of the Assumption is the largest church building in Varna and the third largest cathedral in Bulgaria. Officially opened on August 30, 1886. It is the residence of the Varna and Preslav diocese and one of the landmarks of Varna.
