After approximately 45 minutes of travel, you will arrive at the Underground City. Initially used as a natural freezer by the locals, it later served as a shelter against Arab invasions by the late Romans. Ihlara Valley is located 52 km away and is reached about 45 minutes after the Underground City. Formed as a result of volcanic activities of Mount Hasan, Ihlara Valley has an 80-meter-deep canyon due to the erosive effect of the Melendiz River over millions of years.
