• Zelve Open Air Museum is an ancient cave town and monastic valley in Cappadocia, about 8u201310 km from Gu00f6reme. Spread across three deep red-toned valleys packed with fairy chimneys, it was one of the regionu2019s earliest Christian monastic centres and later a mixed Muslimu2013Christian village.

• Step into the warm, earthy world of Cappadociau2019s traditional pottery at our hands-on workshop. Guided by local artisans whose craft has been passed down for generations, youu2019ll watch a live demonstration on the kick wheel, then take your place to shape the famous red clay of the Ku0131zu0131lu0131rmak River with your own hands.

• Devrent, also known as Imagination Valley, is one of Cappadociau2019s most playful landscapes u2013 a natural u201csculpture parku201d where the wind has carved the soft pink rock into hundreds of strange shapes. There are no churches or cave houses here; the valley was never inhabited. Instead, visitors come to walk among fantastically eroded fairy chimneys that resemble animals and figures, like the famous camel-shaped rock right by the roadside, as well as shapes that many people see as dolphins, seals, snakes or even human silhouettes.

• Pigeon Valley, or Gu00fcvercinlik Vadisi, is a long, green canyon stretching between Gu00f6reme and Uu00e7hisar, famous for the thousands of small pigeon houses carved into its soft volcanic cliffs. For centuries, locals kept pigeons here and used their droppings as natural fertilizer for Cappadociau2019s vineyards, so the valley is a beautiful mix of nature and old village life.

• Kaymaklu0131 Underground City is one of Cappadociau2019s largest and most fascinating underground settlements, a true maze carved deep into the soft volcanic rock. Spreading over eight levels (four open to visitors today), it once sheltered thousands of people together with their animals, food stores and even a small church, all hidden around deep ventilation shafts and protected by massive rolling stone doors.

• Ihlara Valley is a dramatic 14 kmu2013long canyon near Cappadocia, carved by the Melendiz River, with cliffs rising 100u2013150 meters on both sides and a lush, green micro-climate hidden at the bottom.nnAlong the riverside walking paths you pass rock-cut churches, monasteries and simple cave dwellings, many decorated with early Christian frescoes in both Byzantine and Eastern styles. Small wooden bridges, tea gardens by the water and picnic spots make it a relaxing, scenic hike that combines nature, history and village life all in one valley.

• Selime Monastery is a dramatic rock-cut monastic complex rising at the end of Ihlara Valley, carved directly into a giant volcanic cone. Dating mainly from the 8thu201310th centuries, it was once a major Christian religious centre and later a strategic stronghold overlooking the old trade routes. Inside the cliffs youu2019ll find a cathedral-sized cave church with columns and arches, chapels, kitchens, storerooms, monksu2019 cells and tunnels connecting the different levels.

• Gu00f6reme Panoramic Viewpoint is one of the best places to see Cappadocia from above u2013 a wide terrace overlooking the town of Gu00f6reme, its fairy chimneys and the surrounding valleys. From here you get a sweeping 180u00b0 (and more) view of cave hotels, rock formations

• An onyx demonstration introduces you to one of Cappadociau2019s most beautiful local crafts. In a traditional stone workshop, youu2019ll watch skilled artisans cut, shape and polish blocks of onyx into elegant vases, bowls, chess sets and jewellery.nnYouu2019ll see each step of the process explained, from selecting the raw stone to revealing its natural colours and patterns on the polishing wheel. Guests are welcome to ask questions, feel the different types of stone and browse the showroom, where unique handmade pieces are available to purchase as a special souvenir from Cappadocia.
