Itinerary
On arrival, you will meet our Chauffeur/ Guide, who meet and greet at the Bandaranaike International Airport. Upon arrival in Kandy, check in to your hotel. Your evening hours will be spent at leisure.
After breakfast we will make a visit to the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya you will be accompanied by an expert botanist. Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is one of the best botanical gardens in Sri Lanka and one of the most beautiful in Asia.nnIt is located just 6 km from Kandy, the second-largest city in Sri Lanka. The botanical gardens are huge & well-organized gardens, It is renowned for the collection a variety of Orchids, and has more than 300 varieties of Orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees attached to it is the National Herbarium. The total landmass of the botanical garden is 147 acres; it is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture. The origins of the Botanic Gardens date as far back. The Classical Avenue of Palms is located in this Garden. One tree with a significant history is the Cannonball Tree planted by King George V of the United Kingdom and Queen Mary in 1901.
On completion, we will explore the city of Kandy and will be given some free time for shopping if required. At approximately around 1630HRS we will proceed to the temple of the Tooth, Kandy.nTemple of the tooth, is the most important place for the present Buddhist because it is the final resting place of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha known as u201cSri Dalada Maligawa.u201d It is famous for its carvings and the beautiful art that is unique to Sri Lanka. The most important part of the Dalada Maligawa is the octagon (Pathirppuwa). Thousands of people line up each day to get a glimpse of its majesty. Kandy is also one of the most beautiful cities of Sri Lanka with its picturesque lake built by its last king, itu2019s hills surrounding the city, itu2019s devales the oldest the Natha devale belonging to the 14th century and the palace of the last king of Kandy which are presently the districts courts and the archaeological museum.
After breakfast, you will leave towards Bentota on route to visit the Three Temple Complex at Pilimathalawe we will leave the hotel around 0800hrs. Our guide will be arranging everything for your tour. While you will reach there you will see pristine spice plants and a nearby three temple complexnThe three temples (Gadaladeniya, Lankathilake, Embekka) have been made in the 14th century before the Kandyan Kingdom was fully established. These temples are three located within easy walking distance which is given another unforgettable experience for heritage lovers.nProceed to Bentota and check in to the hotel. You will be spending on leisure.
You will spend these days at leisure by the beach. Optional u2013 You will visit to see the turtle hatchery.nKosgoda is famous for its sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1988 to protect Sri Lankau2019s turtles from extinction. Since then it has released about 3.5 million baby turtles into the wild. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that they collect at night along the long sandy beach. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs (mostly green turtles) can be found at Kosgoda throughout the year. The hatchery buries the eggs in the sand, and when they hatch around 50 days later the baby turtles are released into the sea at night. Only about one in 1,000 turtles survive to maturity. Kosgoda turtle hatchery also has tanks for injured or disabled turtles, including albino turtles that would not survive in the wild. Thereu2019s also a small shop and cafu00e9.
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and proceed to Colombo for your last night. Upon arrival in Colombo will be at leisure and explore the city on your own if possible. At approximately around 1100HRS we will go to MRS. Mohara Doleu2019s residence to experience a Sri Lankan culinary lesson and to enjoy a delicious lunch cooked by you.nAfterward, you are on a walking tour of Colombo.nColombo is the trade capital that has long been the traditional gateway to the orient. Today, Colombo is a fascinating city with a happy blend of east & west, past & present with a charm of its own. The main seaport of Sri Lanka is in Colombo & adjoining it, is Pettah, which is the local bazaar & trading area. Other places of interest are the beautiful Buddhist temples, Hindu temples, the historic Wolfendhal church, the main residential area u2013 cinnamon gardens and the BMICH nnUpon completion, we will return to our hotel for overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. If you wish you will do the Colombo City tour according to your flight time. On completion, you will be depending on your departure flight time leave to the airport.
