Founded by New Orleans native DJ Johnson, it’s named after literary giant James Baldwin, celebrating his legacy of addressing race, identity, and social justice. The bright, modern space features African-inspired decor, white walls, and wooden shelves brimming with books across genres like literature, history, children’s, and self-help, with a focus on Black authors.
