This massive fortified caravanserai was a secure resting place for travellers on the long road to Persia. It is the largest medieval caravanserai in Turkey, and is consu0131dered to be one of the finest examples of Seljuk architecture.
Discover the life of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, the mystic spiritual leader and poet. Learn about the lifestyle and religious practices of his followers, the famous Whirling Dervishes. Rumi's tomb is the centre of the museum, which is full of precious relics.
As the 'mosque of Sultans' this site has been developed over centuries. You can see how earlier Byzantine stonework was incorporated by master Seljuk craftsmen. 8 Sultans are buried here, in appropriate splendour. Take a stroll in the pretty park and enjoy the view over the city.
