Mikumi is one of the most accessible Tanzanian parks from Dar es Salaam, making it an ideal destination for short or weekend safaris without the need for long flights to northern parks like the Serengeti or Ngorongoro. On your drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, youu2019ll enjoy views of the city and experience the scenic coastal landscapes along the way to Mikumi.
Meet and greet your guide at your accommodation, then depart early from Dar es Salaam to avoid traffic as you begin your safari to Mikumi National Park (approximately 6u20137 hours by road).nnAlternatively, you can board the SGR train at 6:00 AM in Dar es Salaam and arrive in Morogoro at around 7:30 AM, where your guide will meet you and transfer you to Mikumi National Park.nnAs you approach the park, begin your guided game drive across the open plains and savannah. Enjoy searching for Africau2019s large mammals and primates while creating unforgettable memories as you explore the diverse wildlife of Mikumi.
Choose either full day game drive or half day ngame drive in the open savannahs which is surrounded by mountains making for ngreat vistas and dramatic skies. Another day filled with unexpected encounters, nmagnificent views and new impressions. With your camera at your fingertips, nyou continue to explore Mikumiu2019s fascinating nature and wildlifeu2014every turn is nunique, every moment an opportunity.
After breakfast, pick up your packed lunch, and your guide will drive you to a Maasai boma (optional) to explore and experience their traditional way of life. Following this visit, you will return by road or we will book SGR to Dar es Salaam.
