Your guide will provide insights into the significance of Uchisar Castle's reconstruction and its historical role in the life of Cappadocia.

• Explore one of Cappadociau2019s largest and most complex underground cities. Featuring multiple levels of tunnels, storage rooms, kitchens, stables, ventilation shafts, and ancient living quarters used by local communities for protection.

• From the 4th to the 13th century AD, the region was densely populated with monastic life. Churches, chapels, dining halls, and living quarters are found in almost every rock block. Today's Gu00f6reme Open Air Museum is considered the place where the monastic education system was initiated. Eintracht Mu00ednau00ed, Ihlara, and Au00e7u00e1ksaray were later places where the same education system was implemented. The churches in the Gu00f6reme Open Air Museum are painted using two different techniques. The first is painting directly onto the flattened rock surface, and the second is painting on the rock using secco (tempera) and fresco techniques. The subjects depicted in the church frescoes are taken from the Old and New Testaments and the life of Jesus. The Gu00f6reme Open Air Museum is home to the Monasteries of Girls and Boys, St. Basil's Church, Elmalu0131 Church, St. Barbara's Church, Ylanlu0131 Church, Maltese Cross Church, St. Catherine's Church, Karanlu0131k Church, Tsar Church, and Tokal Church.

Your guide will explain the fascinating geological process that created these formations and the spiritual significance they held for local monks who once lived in seclusion here.

• Visit the charming town of Avanos, famous for its centuries-old pottery tradition.
