Itinerary

  • Your first stop is Durdle Door, one of the Jurassic Coastu2019s most iconic landmarks. Rather than taking the usual longer route, we use a hidden pathway that involves very little walking but leads to one of the best viewpoints of the famous limestone arch. Itu2019s a brilliant way to take in the scenery without the long climb.

  • Next, we head to Lulworth Cove, famous for its near-perfect horseshoe shape and beautiful coastal setting. Itu2019s an easy stop to enjoy at your own pace, with the beach just a short walk away. Wander down to the water, explore the village, or simply take a break with a coffee, locally made ice cream or a pint in one of the nearby pubs.

  • Next, we head inland to Corfe Castle, where the dramatic ruins rise above one of Dorsetu2019s most picturesque villages. With more than 1,000 years of history behind it, the castle has plenty of stories to tell, including its role in the English Civil War.nnYou can admire the castle from outside and spend some time exploring the village below, with its stone cottages, independent shops and traditional cafu00e9s. Itu2019s also a great spot to stop for a classic Dorset cream tea.

  • Next, we head into Weymouth for some free time and a well-earned lunch break. Wander around the historic harbour, soak up the seaside atmosphere and choose from plenty of local cafu00e9s, pubs and restaurants.nnFancy keeping it classic? Grab some fish and chips by the harbour, or settle into a traditional pub for lunch and a pint of local ale if the mood takes you.

  • Finally, we head across the Isle of Portland, where the landscape changes completely. Weu2019ll stop at the Olympic Rings viewpoint for sweeping views across Chesil Beach, one of the most distinctive stretches of coastline in Dorset.nFrom there, we continue towards Portland Bill, right at the southern tip of the island. If time permits, youu2019ll also see Portlandu2019s three historic lighthouses, each with its own story and character, before we begin the return journey.
