Unlike typical demonstrations, this is a fully hands-on weaving experience where guests actively create their own miniature rug using traditional Turkish techniques. Guided by local artisans on a cozy rooftop terrace surrounded by authentic Anatolian textiles, participants learn the Turkish Double Knot, explore the history of weaving in Cappadocia, choose a traditional motif, and take part in a craft that has been practiced for centuries. Learn the traditional Turkish Double Knot (Gördes Knot) and discover how the foundation of a Turkish carpet is prepared. Guided by local artisans, you’ll explore the history of weaving in Cappadocia and Central Anatolia, practice flat-weaving techniques, and create your own design using motifs from our catalogue.
