Overview

Experience two sides of Costa Maya in one day — share traditions and a meal with a local Maya family, then continue to the blue waters of Bacalar Lagoon.

Begin in Chacchoben village, where your hosts share traditions that remain part of everyday life. Try making your own tortilla, discover local ingredients and family recipes, and learn about customs passed down through generations.

Gather around the table for a home-cooked Maya lunch, featuring traditional flavors and fresh local ingredients. It’s a chance to share food and conversation with your hosts.

After lunch, change the pace at Bacalar’s Seven Color Lagoon. Swim in the clear freshwater, take out a kayak, float on a tube, or settle into a lounger with a cold drink while enjoying the changing shades of blue.

From sharing a family table with the people who call Costa Maya home to an afternoon beside the blue waters of Bacalar, head back to port with stories, flavors, and moments that will stay with you long after your day ends
