• Your day starts with a comfortable transfer from the cruise port of Civitavecchia, about an hour from Rome. Your driver will greet you directly at the cruise terminal with a sign in your name, and you will take a seat in an air-conditioned vehicle for the journey to the city. During the trip, your driver or guide (depending on the option chosen) will give you a brief introduction to Rome, its history, and what awaits you during your visit.

• Your visit will begin with the discovery of Vatican City, where you will admire the majestic Basilica of St. Peter, the largest and most important church in Christendom. From St. Peteru2019s Square, your driver or guide (depending on the option chosen) will reveal the secrets of its grandiose architecture and the artists who designed it, such as Michelangelo and Bernini.nnNearby, you will also see Castel Sant'Angelo, originally built as a mausoleum to Emperor Hadrian, then transformed into a papal fortress.

• A short drive will take you to the Pantheon, one of the best preserved monuments of ancient Rome. Originally built as a temple dedicated to all gods, this architectural wonder has the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world. Your guide will explain the genius of its engineering and its transformation into a Christian church. You will have the opportunity to enter the interior and admire its magnificent interior.

• Then you will go to Piazza Navona, one of the most beautiful squares in Rome, famous for its magnificent baroque architecture. Your driver or guide (depending on the option chosen) will highlight the Fountain of the Four Rivers, designed by the famous artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, and explain how the square went from a Roman stadium to the lively square we know today.nEnjoy this place for a free ride and lunch (not included)

• Then itu2019s time to visit the Trevi Fountain, probably the most famous fountain in the world. This baroque masterpiece is a must-see of Rome, and you will discover the legends surrounding it, including the tradition of throwing a coin into the fountain to ensure your return to the Eternal City. Take the time to admire the detailed sculptures and the water that cascades.

• Then you will discover the exterior of the famous Coliseum, the former amphitheatre where gladiatorial games and other public performances took place. Your driver or guide (depending on the option chosen) will share anecdotes about its construction, its historical role, and its importance in Roman society. You will also have the opportunity to take pictures of the Roman Forum, the heart of public life in ancient Rome, where the main political, religious and social activities were held.

• Adjacent to the Colosseum is the Roman Forum, which was once the political and religious heart of ancient Rome. This area offers an impressive view of the imperial history of Rome.

• On the way back to Civitavecchia, enjoy a short panoramic ride past some of Rome's other famous sights. You will pass the Circus Maximus, the ancient Roman stadium dedicated to chariot racing, and see the Palatine, where Rome's elite once lived. This route offers a final glimpse of the grandeur of Rome before returning to port.

• After an exciting day of discovery, your driver will take you back to the cruise port of Civitavecchia. Relax during the hour-long journey and think back to the incredible sights you have visited. You will arrive in port well in time for your ship to depart.
