The pagan temple Garni was built in the 1st century AD and is the only monument connecting with the era of paganism and Hellenism, dedicated to the sun god Mithra.
The cave monastery
In the northwest part of Sevan Lake, on a narrow rocky peninsula, there stands one of the most prominent examples of medieval Armenian architecture u2013 Sevanavank Monastery. It was founded in 874 AD.
Dilijan is u201cArmenian Switzerlandu201d. The Monastery complex Haghartsin ('Dance of the Eaglesu2019) was built between the 10th and 13th centuries.
