Itinerary

  • The Arch of Charents, a vantage point from which, on a clear day, the view of Mount Ararat and the valley below opens. It is the ideal place for the first photos and to introduce the history and geography of Armenia.

  • Finally we reach the Geghard rock monastery, a UNESCO site of the 13th century, partly carved into the rock and famous for its acoustics. Here you will have time to visit the different churches, listen to the liturgical songs if any and breathe in the mystical atmosphere of the place.

  • From the Garni area we descend into the Azat river gorge to admire the u201cSymphony of Stonesu201d, hexagonal basalt formations that create a natural organ effect. A short but scenic walk, perfect for photography lovers.

  • We continue towards Garni, where we will visit the only surviving Hellenistic pagan temple in the former USSR, with its Ionic colonnade overlooking the canyon. Here we will delve into the pre-Christian period and the role of the Armenian summer palace.

  • Arrival at Lake Sevan and ascent to the peninsula to visit the Sevanavank Monastery, famous for its black stone churches and spectacular views of the lake. Free time for photos and to enjoy the view.
