Leave Sofia behind and head into the heart of the Balkan Mountains and the peaceful countryside of northern Bulgaria. Begin with a visit to the remarkable Saeva Dupka Cave, one of Bulgariau2019s most impressive cave systems.nnExplore the caveu2019s enormous chambers, fascinating rock formations, and excellent acoustics. Often called the u201cunderground cathedralu201d of Bulgaria, the cave reveals a magical world of stalactites and stalagmites shaped over millions of years.nnThe cave is about 400 meters long and the tour there takes about 1 hour and you will be able to take some amazing photos! Please have in mind that the temperature inside is constantly around 10 u2013 14 degrees, so even in the summer season you will need to bring a jacket or sweatshirt with you!
After exploring the cave, stop for a lunch break in a traditional restaurant in the village of Yablanitsa (lunch not included).
After lunch, continue through scenic mountain landscapes to the picturesque Glozhene Monastery, dramatically perched on a rocky hilltop, overlooking the surrounding valleys.
