Itinerary

  • Depart from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg via shuttle to Ivory Moon Lodge in Hoedspruit. (Flights from Johannesburg or Cape Town can be arranged at extra costu2014let us know in advance.) Upon arrival, savor a delicious lunch, check into your luxurious suite, and head out for a sunset drive in Blue Canyon Reserve, complete with sundowners and snacks. Return to the lodge for dinner.

  • Set off early for a full-day adventure in Kruger National Parku2019s Orpen Satara region, famous for its lion prides and Big 5 encounters (bottled water and packed breakfast included). Return to the lodge in the afternoon for a relaxing evening and dinner.

  • Choose between a full-day Panorama Route tour, exploring the stunning Drakensberg escarpment, waterfalls, Blyde River Canyon, Bourkeu2019s Luck Potholes, and Godu2019s Windowu2014or swap it for another Kruger safari to chase more wildlife sightings (no extra cost, but book ahead). Back at the lodge, unwind by the fire before an early dinner of flavorful South African dishes. Then, set out on a night drive through the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate in an open vehicle with a spotlight, seeking out bush babies, porcupines, leopards, hyenas, and plains game. End the evening with a toast around the fire, sipping creamy Amarula liqueur amid the sounds of the wild.

  • Start with a guided bushwalk in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, getting up close to plains game and discovering the bushu2019s intricate details with expert insights. (Opt for a sunrise safari in a Big 5 private reserve instead, at additional costu2014arrange in advance.) Return for a final breakfast on the viewing deck, then check out for the shuttle back to OR Tambo. (Flights back can be organized at extra cost.)
