  • Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards

  • Kosgoda is the one of the very few hatcheries where all the five species in the country make their nests. They are the Olive Ridleys, Leatherbacks, Green Turtles, Loggerheads and Hawksbills.

  • The Galle Lighthouse is an onshore lighthouse in Galle, Sri Lanka and is operated and maintained by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. This is Sri Lanka's oldest light station.

  • En route, stop briefly to photograph the iconic stilt fishermen, an image of timeless tradition rarely witnessed elsewhere.

  • This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka, known for its golden sands and clear waters. It's a great place for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports.

  • The Meetiyagoda moonstone mines in southwestern Sri Lanka are renowned for producing rare blue moonstones, mined using traditional methods since 1906. Located atop the worldu2019s largest pegmatite vein of moonstone, the site offers visitors a glimpse into age-old mining techniques through water-filled pits and local workshops. Tourists can explore the mines, observe the gemstone extraction process, and purchase handcrafted jewelry, making it a unique destination that blends natural beauty with cultural heritage.
